THE ALBUM OF THE MONTH: CROSSING CRYSTAL LAKE BY Howard Emerson This month our "pickup and hold" telephone music (you hear it when you call us and you're put on hold or a few moments) features a brand new album by Howard Emerson, acoustic guitarist, titled Crossing Crystal Lake. Howard has, for decades, been known to many here in the New York music scene, having played second guitar with Billy Joel, Eric Anderson and other well known singer-songwriter-performers. During this time he developed his own multi-layered style of expressive, tuneful acoustic instrumentals, and for the first time on CD you can now hear 9 of these pieces, brilliantly recorded. This album, along with a few select others by performers who are "friends of Mandolin Brothers" (Aerial Acoustics, Murial Anderson, Big Cow, the Curtis High School Guitar Ensemble, Simon Mayor's mandolin albums and Rick Ruskin) can be purchased here, at the world's smallest CD department, or obtained from us by mail order. Howard's album is $13.95 each plus $3 shipping/handling (domestically) and/or local sales tax if it's a New York state transaction.
If you haven't been to our expanded showroom yet, what are you waiting for? We've added a spacious new "High End" room containing the rarest and most "ferry tisirable" Collings, Gibson, Goodall, Grit Laskin, Martin, and Taylor vintage and Brazilian rosewood guitars, dozens of fine archtops, D'Angelicos, D'Aquistos, high-end hand-made classicals, pre-1900 Martins, a 1954 original Fender Stratocaster, '55 and '57 Gibson Gold Tops and a '60 Les Paul Standard , an "Electric Guitar" display room, 2 "Banjo and Resophonic Guitar" rooms, an "Electric Listening" room, and an exciting "Acoustic Amplification" test drive room!
