Franklin (used, 1994) “Leadbelly” 12-string model
#553, in excellent plus condition, with black wooden original hard shell case with a burgundy lining.
Nick Kukich is a legendary American builder of fine hand-made guitars. He was working at the time in Sand Point, Idaho at which time his guitars became widely known for their excellence and were a favorite of such players as Stefan Grossman and John Renbourn. Kukich’s instruments are identifiable by having a highly stylized letter “F” inlaid in mother of pearl near the top of the headstock, which ‘stock appears to be striped ebony.
