National (used, 2009) Triolian

Tag No 39-1542 Used

#14941, in excellent plus condition, in Vintage Sunburst, with added strap pin and the original hard shell case.

Here’s what National Guitars says about this absolutely gorgeous guitar:  “Introduced in 2009, our new Triolian is a reissue of an early 1930's W-Series Triolian.  The thin-gauge steel body is highlighted by flat cut "f" holes, a formed back, and traditional sieve-hole coverplate.  Each body is hand-painted in sunburst to capture the look of the originals.  The maple neck clears 12 frets to the body and features an ivoroid-bound rosewood fretboard complete with inlaid mother-of-pearl position markers.  Tuners are vintage-style engraved, open gear.”  Specifications are as follows:  the headstock style she is slotted; the headstock logo is a decal of a crest in gold, black and red; the headstock overlay is, well, there isn’t any – the entire headstock is a continuation of the maple neck.

Its tuners are National brand; the nut material is bone (much like ourselves); the fingerboard is rosewood bound with ivoroid and displaying mother of pearl markers.  The fret wire (I know you need to know this) is .106 in width and .039 in height.   This model utilizes a 9.5” hand-spun resonator with a maple biscuit; the neck is hard rock maple so you know what kind of music you can play on it; the upper bout width is 10 ¼” while the lower bout width is 14”, the overall length is 38 ¾”, the depth 3.125”, the nut width is 1.825 [hey, ixnay on the metric already – what is this in inches?  We measure 1 13/16th”], the width at the 12th fret is 2.3” and the scale length is 25”.  The weight, in case you are watching yours, is 7 pounds, 15 ounces.   This guitar shows only the smallest signs of use and wear but it is, on the whole, amazingly clean.  It sounds so round, so firm, so fully packed, that, hearing it, one might think he or she is listening to Son House, or perhaps Rory Gallagher.  The National replicated Tricone is the fulfillment of most blues and bottleneck players’ dreams.    It can, as well, make you very happy.    Maybe even euphoric.
