    Forshage (used) Chambered Electric

    Tag No 32-3089 Used
#ISI2105, sunburst top, excellent condition, with original Ameritage deluxe case.

This delightful instrument, appropriately called a Masterpiece, was made by builder Chris Forshage.  It is a chambered electric, meaning that it is not a solid body, but has air inside as does a Benedetto Benny or a Renaissance by Rick Turner or a Ribbecke Chambered Halfling.  This design is designed to reduce feedback at higher volume levels, and for the quality of its tone.

Our Discount Price is $3,969.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,850.00.

  3. Kraus Guitars (used, 2010) Dreadnought Guitar

Kraus Guitars (used, 2010) Dreadnought Guitar

    Tag No 32-3085 Used
#ISI1948, Mahogany and Sitka spruce Dreadnought, with a strap pin in the neck heel, and housed in a gloriously well-made plush-lined Cedar Creek hard shell case.

Bill Kraus builds guitars the old fashioned way, by hand, at his shop in Middleport, NY, northeast of Buffalo, described per the town’s website as a quaint little village of about 2,000 residents situated in the Royalton and Hartland regions on the eastern edge of Niagara County.   Kraus guitars are currently offered in two body styles, cleverly named the "OM" and the "D". While the shapes of these instruments are based on the traditional designs, the internal bracing and other design concepts are unique to this brand. It is a trade secret, so don’t even think about asking.

Our Discount Price is $2,881.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $2,795.00.

  6. Collings (used, 2010) OM1AC Cutaway

    Collings (used, 2010) OM1AC Cutaway

    Tag No 32-3062 Used
#17326, with 1 ¾" nut width, Adirondack spruce top, original hard shell case.

Here’s what Collings Guitars says about their OM model: “'OM' stands for ‘Orchestra Model’ but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing, and when the graceful cutaway is added these OMs are often used by lead players who routinely explore all 20 frets much as they would on an electric guitar.

Our Discount Price is $4,072.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,950.00.

Bourgeois (used, 2008) Vintage OM-SS (Short Scale)

Tag No 32-3048 Used Hear this instrument in our demonstration video!
#004913, in excellent plus condition with original pebble finish hard shell case.

This is an exemplary sounding, easy playing, utterly gorgeous instrument that, from a foot away, looks almost new.  In this singular version, the scale length – i.e. the distance between the nut and the saddle, is shortened just slightly to 24.9” (the regular OM is 25.4”).  Although for some players this difference is barely noticeable, for others we hear that there is a sense of less tension on the strings and the slight advantage of having the frets a teeny bit closer together making for easier chord reaches and solo string work.

Our Discount Price is $3,454.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,350.00.

Martin (used, 1933) 018K Koa 12-fret slothead with rounded slots

Tag No 32-3051 Used Hear this instrument in our demonstration video!
#53202, all-Koa body, mahogany back of neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, newer Calton Deluxe white case with silver blue interior. The hard shell case serial number is #11597.

This guitar is old enough, and fine enough, and rare enough, and played enough to have a sound that, frankly, has blown the mind of each person who has played it.  It is a stunner - a staggerer - the epitome of what an early 1930s Martin guitar can be!    But don't take my word for it (heck, no).  Come to our showroom and play it yourself and be prepared to genuflect before its paralyzing corporeal beauty.

It is in very good plus condition showing the normal compliment of dings, scratches, scuffs, scrapes and nicks - but perhaps far fewer than most.

Our Discount Price is $4,485.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $4,350.00.

    Tag No 32-3029 Used
#1299364, Grand Concert slothead, in excellent plus condition with original hard shell case.

This instrument captures some of the appointments and panache of the prewar version – however it is made from solid Indian rosewood on the back & sides, with the addition of the extremely welcome Adirondack “Red” spruce top.  If we cast our mind back to the grand concert sized guitar that the incomparable Sylvia Fricker played in the group Ian and Sylvia (and who could forget that?) you may envision her playing a guitar that was extremely similar to this.

    Tag No 39-2997 Used
#ISI2099, excellent condition with original hard shell case.

This truly beautiful, hand-crafted instrument appears to be made from some variation of  rosewood on the back and sides.  It is possible that this wood is Bubinga, also called African Rosewood – from Western Africa.  Or it could be Pau Ferro (also called Brazilian Ironwood or Morado, or Bolivian Rosewood – if you can identify this wood we hope you will tell us what it is.)  The top is high quality (possibly German) spruce.   It appears to have a South American mahogany neck and an African ebony fingerboard.

It is made using bona fide, solid mahogany on the back & sides, and it has 1/4" scalloped braces, a modified V-neck, a bone nut and saddle
