Guild® (new) GADM20E

Tag No 58-9439 New

#GAD50851, in natural mahogany, acoustic only, small bodied, with hard shell case.

in natural mahogany, acoustic only, small bodied, with hard shell case.   Guild’s great-sounding concert-style GAD-M20 acoustic features a 13 ¾” lower bout, solid mahogany top, solid mahogany back and sides, scalloped spruce bracing, a mahogany neck, 24 ¾” scale length, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, mother-of-pearl dot position inlays and headstock logo, and a Fishman® Matrix™ under-saddle pickup with endpin jack.

This series is made in China by Guild Acoustic Design (yes, that’s what GAD stands for), as a Concert sized guitar having a solid mahogany top, sides and back.      The braces, they are scalloped, the bridge she is rosewood, the neck is happily one-piece and content to be so.  The fingerboard is rosewood, has a 16” radius which if you are of a scientific mind is 406.4mm.   The fingerboard width at the nut is 1 11/16th (yep, 43mm); it has 20 frets total and a scale length of 24 ¾” nut to saddle.   The hardware is chrome plated; tuners are Grover® Vintage Style chrome-plated open-gears; the pickup with which this is factory equipped is a Fishman® Acoustic Matrix VT™ System with under-saddle pickup and end pin mounted active preamp (it sounds most impressive).   There are soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls.  The finish is high gloss polyester, much like my leisure suite and Guild calls the color natural, which we guess it is.   This guitar is small, measuring only 13 ¾” at the lower bout; it has a dovetail neck joint, a scalloped Spruce-braced top, a mother of pearl headstock logo, and MOP dotmarkers in the fretboard.  Its bridge pins are crème colored with black dots; it has a bone nut and saddle, a tortoise shell color pickguard, a factory installed “forward” strap button with an internally braced support and this masterpiece in economy and fiscal probity is housed in a hard shell case so attractive and durably made as to command a sudden, involuntary gasp from the person that sees it.     It comes with D’Addario Phosphor Bronze strings - .012 to .053 and that’s exactly the same strings as we would put on it.
