This model came out in 1984 as a re-statement of the Rickenbacker model 4001S (the S has no body binding) that was made in 1963.  This all blonde example has a horseshoe magnet type of pickup that is not made the same way as the original but look similar, and the heel of the neck has a more squared-off design.    The model was discontinued in the year 2000.  This is in extremely clean condition but may show some extremely minor signs of having been played.

Fender’s ’70s Jazz Bass® captures the essence of the decade with striking looks and bright, full sound. That decade saw the bridge pickup placed closer to the bridge, creating a brighter, more cutting tone, and the addition of neck binding and block fretboard inlays. The bass has an alder body; the thin one-piece C-shaped maple neck has a maple fingerboard with black binding and black rectangular position markers.

The Hofner Icon Series Violin bass is a made-in-the-far-east interpretation of the iconic instrument that Sir Paul has made universally famous beyond words.    Hofner utilizes actual spruce for the top and not quite as actual flamed maple for the sides and back (let us call it “layered maple”), which produces the sweet, warm, round sound that we are so fondly familiar with.    The body is considered semi-hollow and the connection of neck to body is “set” just like you will be if you owned this fine bass guitar.  

The 1958 reissue celebrates the retirement of Dieter Fisher, the master craftsman that made all of Paul McCartney's Basses. It comes with documentation and a Hofner shop smock. Some of the most striking features are the oval shaped control panel, Tortoise pick guard and tweed case. Only 58 made. This bass is # 12 of 58.

It comes with the Fishman Prefix Plus T Bass System and is housed in a Model 360 hard shell case.
